About The Team
The Marketing team at Nex empowers our customers to participate in the culture created by our products by building strong relationships directly with the market, telling compelling stories to enable growth, and reflecting our values clearly and concisely to the community. Furthermore, we drive product activation, engagement, and retention through a variety of growth and performance tactics from a global + local point of view.
The growth of our Nex products and games has surged in the APAC Region, and we are looking for a scrappy, self-directed marketing leader to continue our growth and better support our communities in the region.
About The Role
We are looking for a marketing lead who will be our first non-technical hire for the APAC Region. In this role, you will own and manage all marketing, communications, and partnerships in the region. You will play a vital role in the strategy and execution of performance goals for the region.
You will work directly with the global Marketing team to take on a variety of responsibilities ranging from day-to-day operations to highly strategic projects. You will be tasked with building out the function, working with agencies and contractors to help us scale our social, performance, and community marketing functions to support our growth ambitions in the region.
This role reports to the VP of Strategy, Marketing, and Partnerships.
Responsibilities
Help establish product-market-fit for an active stream of new products
Work directly with cross-functional teams to take on a variety of responsibilities ranging from day-to-day operations to highly strategic projects
Conduct detailed research and reports on local and regional landscape with focus on the APAC region
Translate and localize global product marketing concepts to the regional level with country and cultural nuances captured in a way that will resonate with the market. Influence our global point-of-view by actively sharing back insights and learnings.
Drive initiatives and campaigns to help enhance brand awareness, engage the target audience and drive business metrics
Manage audience engagement and campaigns across the mix of regionally relevant marketing channels with an emphasis on digital engagement in the emerging Web 3.0 space
Management of regional influencer/KOL relationships—from outreach to collaboration to post-campaign follow-ups
Actively research and conduct outreach to synergistic regional brands to initiate partnerships, events, and collaborations, and work within APAC to establish a network of agencies or contractors to execute those partnerships
Development of customer advocates and influencer relationships through social media platforms (Both Global and native China platforms)
Take ownership of all core marketing execution in the region, associated deliverables, and commit to delivering quality results
Recommend channels, budgets, and resources (internal or external) needed to be successful in collaboration with the WW marketing team
Qualifications
The candidate must be familiar or comfortable with pre-product-market-fit execution
Strong prospecting skills and ability to find new opportunities for driving growth across markets, culture and products and build close relationships with customers and partners
Team-oriented, a strong communicator, and goes above and beyond to get the job done
The ideal candidate is excited to help us tackle challenging problems, is highly adaptable and eager to learn, and is hungry to jump in and help drive growth at a young startup
Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for gaming, the future of the metaverse, and deep knowledge of APAC Markets
Self-starter that can take on projects and manage them end-to-end, seeking help and guidance as needed
Quick learner in a fast-paced environment and an appetite to take on a variety of tasks
Excellent communicator that can clearly synthesize information in a concise manner and maintain strong relationships with remote teams
Team-oriented and a strong collaborator; willing to occasionally step in and take on responsibilities outside of immediate scope when needed
Exceptional time management skills and accountability
Strong analytics skills around performance data and investment strategy, with the ability to present compelling data-driven business cases to expand or grow strategy
Very strong communication skills with demonstrated experience in business development, social media and influencer campaigns
Language Qualifications
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
Japanese, Korean, Malay, Thai and other SEA languages a plus
Education and Experience
Minimum 5-7 years experience in high-tech or gaming/entertainment consumer marketing role
Bachelors degree, Masters or post-grad experience a plus
